Yellow sapote, best way to bed seed?
They sprouted at room temp, in a potting soil, in a ziplock bag. Is there anything special in planting them, I mean angle of the seed, horizonal, vertical, on the surface, or deeply planted? Does anyone know? I planted them today, laying horizontal, about 3/4 inch below the surface, but can change them, if I get advice other wise. David

I had sprouted in a ziplock bag, in potting soil, so each had a root coming out of one end. It was hard to tell which end was more pointed, but assumed the root should go down, so put that in vertically first. Below is the online info. Sapote seeds lose viability quickly and must be planted soon after removal from the fruit. They normally germinate in 2 to 4 weeks. Removal of the hard outer coat will speed germination. The seeds must be planted with the more pointed end upward and protruding 1/2 in (1.25 cm) above the soil in order to assure good form in the seedling
