wow! Its cold in California!

Currently, around 1 AM, it is 32 degrees in Santa Barbara, and 36 in Seattle. I am still trying to make sense of this. An all time low record for many places is scheduled to be broken today. Is it usual to have frost every winter in SO. CAl? Or the central valley?

Chilly yes, but a record? nahhh

Kyle,

At 3:30 am , here in Modesto, I have 31.1f with a dewpoint of 30f.
It probably wont get lower than 29f/30f by sunrise. No where near a record.
Not cold enough to damage much either.

Kyle, low sunday AM, 27/28F, normal low

Kyle

Jeff and I have lows like this almost every winter, though it has been a degree or two lower thus far, then it has been for the past 4 to fives years, since I have been living in Waterford CA. And Jeff and I are warming then some Central Valley locations, which can drop even more, up to 8 to 10 degrees lower then we do on a regular winter.

Usually I get 2 to 3 mornings around 28/29F each winter, but I'm not sure I have seen it get this cold, this early in the night in a while, to have 8 hours below freezing. But it has not seemed to do much damage yet.

Antioch

According to my remote sensor Radio Shack thermometer, our low here at my house has been 33.1. Not sure the date or time as this is the min. temp in it`s memory.

Mike... Was in your neck of the woods

Hey Mike,

The wife and I took a drive through the delta this past week. We ended up in Antioch.

If I had your #, I'd drop by to see your place.......... oh well next time.
