Last nights freeze damage

Here in Modesto we had about 6 to 8 hrs below freezing. ( min was 30f )
Even though the temp wasn't much below 32f... the duration was long enough the cause some minor/moderate damage to a few plants.

1. Cherimoya, 10% of the upper leaves were damaged.

2. Longan, 10% of the newest, upper leaves were damaged.

3. Tropical Guava, 25 to 50% leaf damage.

4 .Hibiscus 10% leaf damage.

5. 7 ft tall ficus Elastica , planted up against my house has some minor new growth leaf tip damage.

I am happy to say that my parajubea cocoides and LHI banyan suffered NO damage at all. Both are planted in the open, no protection at all.
Also, my young unprotected grafted Chicle Sapote's have no damage at all.

freeze damage

My freeze damage is minimal here in rocklin..
i was 31 last night and have been as low as 29 this winter.
My majesty palm in the ground has some yellow spots on lower leaves--both kings are fine. The hibiscus looks weathered and some limited leaf tip burn on a few leaves. Mt strelitzia reginaes all fine.
Queens have no damage other than the usual weary look of winter...
All my roebelinii and rupicola and canary palms all look well.
bananas a bit weathered though not major leaf burn...some are green, some are yellow green
