Save the nursery fruit tree sale
The Exotica Nursery in Vista is having a sale to save the nursery. It will be on this Friday, Sat, and Sunday 7/30 - 8/1 from 9 a.m. to dusk. There will be many tropical fruit trees for sale from one gallon to 24 inches box.
I just saw this post from CRFG in San Diego area, so just pass it along. If you can, please help this nursery as it is in financial problem, the owner may lose the nursery. They have quite a large collection of many tropical fruit trees.
The nursery is at

That is horrible. What is the price range?

I don't know what the price range at all. I just copied the information I got from CRFG. I am sure it will be reasonable price. I am told that he tries to make monthly rent , so he can keep the nursery. I know, it's horrible. I really want to pass the word out so we all can chip in and help, and we benefit from that too. I went to his nursery and bought a couple of trees a few years back. It's wonderful. He has a lot of different trees to choose from. Hope people will respond.

If you can, just stop in and buy a plant. The merchandise there is always a bargain. During my last visit I bought an allspice seedling for $10. The next best alternative would have been over $50 and it would have had to be shipped. Additionally It was growing under the canopy of a fifteen year old allspice. It would have been worth the money just to walk around in there.
I will make it by this weekend for certain,

I've also heard from some folks that similar things have happened many years ago.
It's always a fun place to visit but I sometimes I've found plants that are priced too high while others were very reasonable. Also, it has seemed that some things may have been grown because Steve likes growing them without really enough market demand for the item.
Still, hope he makes it.

If I could I would make it down there and easily spend a few hundred there. I wish we had a nursery like that up here in Northern California. It would be a travesty if the nursery had to close.

I can not make it. But, have purchased a curry leaf plant from them a few years ago while on a trip to SD. One way for these places to do well is to sell by mail order. That way, they can get business for very little overhead. I, for one, would like to mail order a few tropical trees from a california based source.

Went in today and picked up a Pakistani white mulberry. The choice was made easy. On the grounds were mature white, red and black Mulberry. The form of the white Mulberry made my decision. Few places where you can do that.
One of the coolest things I noticed today was a fruiting Monstera deliciosa. It had climbed about twenty feet up the trunk of a tree and was fruiting. Few places where yoiu can see that!
Also, almost bought an Ecuadorian Walnut but did not know enough about it. There were fresh nut on a table of samples. Not as bitter and sweeter than Persian walnut but the meat a little more difficult to extract. Anyone familiar with this tree?
