Lousy luck with Cyathea medullaris spores

... but you may need cooler temps to get these going. They are generally cool climate plants and the ones I've got in the garden are enjoying warmer conditions than most. They regularly experience lower than 0C in the wild and are pretty tough. They enjoy really humid conditions.
Beyond that I can't help cos I haven't propagated them, I hope you can get them to work

Get some fresh spore from one of the specimens against the building in the entrance garden for Strybing Arboretum next summer. Some Cyatheas have to sown from green spore, and in any event, success is much better if the spore is as fresh as possible.
