Manila Mango in Bay Area

Has Anyone had any success growing Manila Mango in the Bay Area. I see them in Fremont Regan nursery, in pretty bad shape. Does that mean they are not suitable for Bay Area's climate?

Thanks

Manila Mango May Be Possible

Bakchoi,

If you are interested in mangoes, you might find informative the Cloudforest cafe thread called the "California Mango Report" dated March 21, and the most recent "California Mango Report" thread started on May 1.

I have had a Manila mango seedling in a pot outside for two years here in Marin, that has weathered the cold, but with very evident anthracnose suffering. It is soon to go in the ground for a more worthy experiment...

I think you can do better than Regan's on price, since they got it from LaVerne. Almost every Home Depot receives shipments from La Verne, and you should be able to order it using them. (See my comments on this in the earlier thread.)
