gamboge seed
The following thread was started by Thomas on June 18, 2005 at 10:09 pm PST
I have done it. There is nothing too special about it.
The seed has to be fresh. It must not have been dried and you should sow it as soon as possible.
Use the tallest pot you can find. Gamboge and many other Garcinias produce long tap roots.
Keep the soil moist but never wet. Keep the pot in a warm (75F - 85F) place.
It is a extremely slow grower. It needs warm nights to grow, otherwise it will just linger on there.
It can handle some prolonged cold, but needs warmth and humidity to grow.
