Jeff, were your Mexicola Grande's every ripe before they turn black, or did you try?
Kern has noticed and I have to agree, that this so called Mexicola Grande. Is very similar or exactly looking to the Kiernan Road, and the 3, 60 year old huge trees William lead us to in Visalia.
And now Kern has discovered that a tree by CSU Stanislaus, about 30 plus years old, is a kissing cousin look a like to the others.
Almost have to wonder if it is a old variety, not longer in production by a nursery, or a some brought in from Mexico decades ago.

David... The entire fruit was ripe when completly black.... However...
Sometimes the fruit ripen unevenly... the stem end was black and the blossom end was ripe and getting soft before the middle did.... it happened in about 1 in 10 fruits.

I know that can happen, but rare I think, but know it is common with bananas and citrus.
Thanks David
