Chandler, Spartan, and Darrow will all produce fruit the size of a quarter under ideal conditions with lots and lots of irrigation. Fruit size in blueberries, though, is largely a matter of water uptake capacity so humongous blueberries tend to have less intense flavor than those of more moderate proportions. When we go out blueberry picking, we avoid the huge ones the same as we avoid the green ones. Big size is a marketing gimmick that works well for the grower because it's cheaper to inflate the fruit with lots of water than it is to produce more fruit with a higher content of solids. The same is true of tomatoes.
For planting your own blueberries, you should look into which varieties are locally adapted. Depending on exactly where you are in the Bay Area, either southern highbush or northern highbush varieties might yield better results.

would rather have flavor and sweetness rather than huge fruit with lots of water and no flavor. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check out the varieties that might do well here. I do have full sun areas to plant in.. but I read they are sensitive to soil conditions which must be maintained at PH 5.
Will follow up if/when I purchase something.
