In a cooler area, where it does not get all that hot, and the winters are not all that cold either.
Light duty greenhouses are nice, don't have to spend much in or any to heat or cool it down, and maybe none if you install some passive systems.
Where it does not get too cold or too hot, you can build a much simpler greenhouse, and don't have to worry so much about how completely sealed it is, or about heat loss.
You can make it so you can have lots of open-able sections of windows to keep it from heating up, but mainly you don't have to worry and do so much to keep it from getting so hot in summer.
It does not take much of a structure to collect heat, and make your plants perform the way you want. Of course, I guess that could make your yard unsightly, if your plants are in the front yard.
I guess when I think of a greenhouse, it is so locked up and sealed and controlled, But what I am thinking of, would have all kinds of vents and open-able windows, or maybe just covered in the winter with plastic sheeting.
Even with windows cut open in my temporary greenhouse, before it got too warm, 115 to 120 was pretty common. In winter, if the sun was out, 80 to 90s was were pretty common, and it was not even sealed all that well.

Your right David, a partial greenhouse would work good here. I have a attached greenhouse to my house for solar heat in winter. I use to have Dwarf cavendish in the ground in the greenhouse but it liked it to much and tried to take over. Ended up editing it! even though it gave me some tasty hands. Needed room for other exotic's.Have though about partial greenhouse for plants outside, maybe one day soon! It gets cool here too! year before last we got down to 19 .The cherimoya's didn't like it but there coming back. In fact woke up monday it was 36 on the ground.Gota love a challenge.

But still, during the growing season, they are great, when it is cool.
I see that you have already realized what I was trying to say.
Good Job, David
