Took the plunge with chambeyronia macrocarpa

I got my palm delivery from South Coast palms this week, and made it through the Ag. inspection as well, so i am ready to plant.

I picked up a chambeyronia macrocarpa along with dypsis decipiens, and the following:

Archonto. maxima
Chamaedorea radicalis tree form
Howea forsteriana
Chamaedorea metallica
Butia eriospathe
Syagrus schizophylla

I've had great luck with arch. maxima, I grew one from a small seedling a few years ago, now it has turned into this beautiful dark green colored king palm with these amazing red colored newly emerging fronds.

That's it for palms, though, as I have no more room.

Snails and Chamaedorea metallica

I finally had to pot it as I just couldn't keep the snails at bay.....wish I could keep ducks here as I understand they find our little invertebrates delicious!

Growing a Caryota gigas

Just got two Caryota gigas plants about 1' tall. Where should I plant them? Do they need shade now, partial sun, afternoon sun, or full shade? What distance apart do you think I should plant? Need a little advice here, I want them to look perfect when they are bigger.

Palms

All palms benefit from some shade when they are young. But eventually full sun is best. Gigas get giant so you better have plenty of room.
