Fruit seen in Vietnam we can't ID

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to Vietnam, and there are couple fruit we were hoping to get some help identifying. A friend recommended we post to this site. Anybody recognize the fruit in the attached photos?

Photo post

You have to post the photo URL, not the URL to the page with the photos.

2 different fruit

The first looks almost like miracle berry, and the second is definitely a Muntingia calabura or Jamaican Cherry.

I should have been more clear...

Axel, thanks for fixing my picture posting. I'm computer competent at the things I do every day, but I get out of my element quickly.

I should have been more clear that I was posting pictures of two different fruits (two photos of one and one of the other).

Thom, thanks for identifying the second one.

If it helps, the Vietnamese name for the first one is 'qua nhot'. It's really sour, and it's used in soup for that quality.

Cây nhót (Elaegagnus latifolia L.)

Hi,

I cannot read Vietnamese, but "qua nhot" yields several hits on Google pictures that match your picture of this fruit.

So, it seems this fruit's botanical name is Elaeagnus latifolia L.

Gnetum gnemon?

#1 looks kind of like what is called Melinjo in Indonesia. The fruit is used soup and savory dishes like a vegetable and the seed is made in to a snack chip. Latin for this is Gnetum gnemon, but the Vietnamese names in Wikipedia do not match.

thanks...

I just want to thank everyone for their help ID'ing these fruits.

I think the second one is Jamaican Cherry, as suggested.

I'm still not sure about the first. I don't think is Melinjo, based on the pictures I've seen. It really looks like a cherry tomato covered in little white spots.

If anyone else wants to weigh in, please do.

Camu Camu?

I've been chasing seed for camu camu for a while, and these look similar to this Brazilian fruit?
