Hot, hot hot 95F at 2PM
Good tropical weather, feels humid like in Thailand.
Plants look good, though, under a thick blanket of mulch, the roots are cool and the soil is soaked wet from the rain storms.

What happened to the Santa Cruz cool? Did the air flow stop and the over cast blow away?
I was going to say, I am glad I not at your place, but I just checked my gages, 91 to 93F depending on which gage and under the patio roof in back of the house, 97F.
It was nice yesterday in Modesto, when I ran the CRFG Earth Day info booth all day, I am glad it was not this hot yesterday, 85 high was warm enough at days end.

No wind, no fog, I am drenched in sweat, trying to plant a few palms. It's way too hot.
The water over the ocean this Morning looked flat as a pancake, not a ripple, like the surface of a polished emerald stone.

Wow it is hot!
Freshly planted trees do not like this sudden heat. I hope they survive. Jujube, Avocado, Two Citrus and Two Cherimoya.

We've had many records broken across the board. The official Salinas high was 96F, I had 97F in my garden on the southwest facing slopes, around 90F in the shady north facing slopes.
All I can say is I am very thankful for the thick layer of mulch in my garden that is keeping the soil very moist.

Hot in the hills, NWS say it won't cool off in the hills, so far they are right.

Apparently 10 degrees warmer tomorrow.

Someone was telling us at an earth day plant sale that there is going to be a cold front moving into the bay area next week and that there could be frost. I hope not, because my plants are really liking this warmth.
All I could see looking at the 10 day weather forecast is possible rain by Saturday, anyone else heard this frost rumor?

I have not heard that there is going to be frost but a few days of rain. Lows in mid 40 for my area.

Only for wind protected, cold drainage valleys like in the North Bay and the Santa Cruz mountains. It's very unlikely anyone else will see any frost from the cold fronts about to plow through.
We're supposed to see 30F drops in temperatures by the end of the week. I am looking forward to it as I am still in the middle of grafting.
