azarole, medlar, and others . . .

So this winter during bareroot season my goal is to find a azarole (do these actually go dormant?), and medlar. The later I should be able to find. Maybe a Jujube too.

What I was going to ask though is what are other things that winter is the season to root cuttings other then figs?

Quince, grapes, ribes(gooseberry & currant)

autumn olive, dogwoods. I don't think hawthorns of any kind will root from cuttings, but they take easily to whip and tongue grafting.

Does azarole taste like other hawthorns?

I would be interested in getting one if it tastes good. When does it ripen?
Thanks
