Cheap fava beans in bulk?

I just cleared another 1/4 acre or so and would like to put down a cover crop of favas but can't find any reasonably priced in bulk. Does anyone know of a source that won't break the bank?

Great suggestion

Thanks for the referral. The price was a lot higher this year ($2.50/lb) but that's still a lot more reasonable than other locations. Their shipping prices are also very good. I was puzzled why they added sales tax to an edible product though.

Inexpensive source of beans

I have found in this country (New Zealand) that the local Asian/Indian spice shops were an unusual source of Fava (Broad) beans?

Normally the quality seed is very expensive but the food grade dried beans were much less and seem to germinate fine!

Seed Companies

TS&L has a shop just west of Stockton on Hwy 4, and Lockhart Seed is a great old seed company in downtown Stockton, but probably not worth driving over. I may get over there myself in the next week and can check the price if you want.

Ordered from Peaceful Valley

I was delighted when an order I placed just days ago from Peaceful Valley arrived. The beans are large, extremely clean and uniform. Somehow after reading their website, I felt that I would like to support their business. Today I planted about 200 of them, barely making the slightest dent in my order.
