Climate Zone: not sure
I apologize to the explanation just have to wait for the translation.
The trick is to obtain a natural high level of the plant hormone ’Auxine” preferably at the bottom of the cutting. With large concentrations of auxins and low concentrations of cytokinins or no cytokinins, the rooting of the shoots can be arrived at.
Auxins: induces root development in plants.
- They are produced in the apical part of the plant.
- They prevent the development of the axillary buds.
- They favour the rhizogenesis (development of roots).
How will such a thing?
Plant Physiology learns that there are two types of sap streams: one upward transport and the other downward. Well, through a thin metal wire you can block the downward transport.
By blocking you can “catch” this “Auxin” flow desired at this point you reach a very important part in your success rate! Now there is an accumulation of natural Auxins in this part of the plant.
Method:
Wrap a very thin metal wire about a week around a stem node(Girdling), after a week (growth period) you can take the cutting, halve the leaves which prevents moisture loss.
For a second boost dip the fresh cuttings Root hormone IBA. Myself I preferred Clonex. Keep the cuttings in a moist box misting a few times, in light but no sunshine ! Without bottom heat. No misting machine. Keep it simple, low budget.
I had very good results in just three weeks time. A little note to Brian, yes I had success with Almond, peach, nectarine apricot, sweet cherry
To illustrate this method a few pics in French (sorry)

Probably more difficult species to clone this way, good luck to all, please give me response for your comments,.. ideas

I'll try this too next time. Currently my experiment still seems to be alive. I'll have to dig it up next week to see if any roots have formed. At least the leaves are still green. :)

My cutting finally died. Didn't form any roots unfortunately. I guess I really have to wrap the limb with some wire for a week or two before making the cutting. I'll try again next season. I don't think I will have enough time this season to get a good rooted cutting before things go dormant.
