I've been wondering about what to do with all the poorman grapefruit and mandalos I grow, now I know I will be juicing them. Turns out they are loaded with spermicin, a substance known to significantly slow down aging. Apparently, as cells get old, they produce less and less spermicin, so a good intake of grapefruit and related citrus seems like a wise choice.

I keep finding more and more positive references on a lot of fruit. So far, only cherimoya has turned up negative. So eat your grapefruit, and if you don't have any, then get yourself to the closest nursery and buy a grapefruit or pomelo tree.

I adore grapefruit, and use it and pomelo in salads, smoothies, granitas, even grilled. They also make a nice liquor. It's great to know that it's healthy too!

Thanks for posting!

That's wonderful news, about aging! That's something I will definitely be eating more of! I am 25 so now is as good a time as any to start! I just tried mandalo recently.. (thanks to ashok) and adored it! it was amazing!! Tried pomelo from a local asian market and loved it! Enjoyed every bite! I recently picked up a Cocktail grapefruit from lowes. WIll be looking for a pomelo as well! Yum!
