So I am going to Vancouver for a big academic world conferance. My goal will be to try and search out some of the fresh fruit that isn't available in the US. My goal is to try Langsat, Sugar Apple, see how the Mangosteen are, etc. Probably will avoid Durian. Do Santol ever show up in Canada.

Unfortuntely I never got the small seed lot permit so can't bring anything back. I'll try to get some photos though.

So I'm back and unfortunately I didn't really see anything I can't get in the US. Must have been wrong time for Langsat and Santol.

Mangosteen was $3 a pound and I got several pounds worth. Going to be honest here. I suspect that it's overrated a bit. They are nice, but if they were as common as oranges I suspect sometimes you'd rather have a nice orange.

Didn't find any fresh Durian, just frozen.

There were Sapodillas and Longans, but they were different varieties I suspect. The Longan variety was better then the US ones you see. More yellow too.

Had better Pummelos too.
