Does any one know where to get cider apples (tanic and or acidic) in northern california?
A friend and I are looking to make some cider this year.

He lives near "Apple Hill" in the plaserville area, I am in Woodland.
Despite bieng sourounded by comercial apple orchards, he has been unable to locate varieties suitable for good cider.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Good luck! No one grows cider apples commercially. Bonny doon Winery here was looking for cider apples and could not find any, they ended up trucking in a load of crab apples from Southern California.

Hard apple cider is making a comeback, yet no one is growing any cider apples. I do know of one commercial orchard, but they use their own apples for their own cider.
