Hi,

I'm a newbie gardener and fruit lover from California's San Joaquin Valley (Turlock). I found this site while researching growing mangoes in California.
Reading about the famous "Modesto mango" gave me the courage to try to grow interesting fruits in my polluted, hot, dry, and somewhat cold corner of the world.

Since I just started planting my fruit orchard, I don't have much to contribute to the forum. I hope to be able to give some informative progress reports on my feijoas, paw paws, and if I find them, mangoes too.

Later!

Welcome Gel........

Looking forward to your reports. I'm in a similar spot to you, just starting most of my stuff a year ago, and some this year....

@Sanjosefool & nullzero
Thanks! Nice to hear from fellow Californians!

I started planting the interesting fruits just a couple of months ago. So, not much growth yet, but at least they are still alive :D

Here's one of my paw paws. Prolific from One Green World. I planted it at the beginning of May.

Nice picture, I was thinking of getting a pawpaw maybe sometime in the future. Still want to get another persimmon though.
