Hi,
I just joined a few minutes ago. Found the group by accident, and it looks like fun!
My name is Carolyn, and I live in Boise Idaho. We are zone 6 here. Some folks plant outside for zone 7, but I haven't had much luck.
I have a 400 square ft tropical greenhouse in my backyard (ok, it IS the backyard...). We named it Daintree, after our favorite tropical rainforest.
I love anything tropical, especially if it is edible and/or smells wonderful. Right now, I have theobroma cacao, cavendish banana, pineapple guava, papaya, several different citrus, dragonfruit, pineapple, dwarf pineapple (anybody want a dwarf pineapple?), tea, coffea arabica, cherimoya, soapnuts, miracle fruit, tamarind, date palms, lychee, capulin, jinicuil, and then a whole bunch of things that just smell good - some different jasmines, gardenia, etc, and some cool different philodendrons and some less ordinary hoya. I love to bring home new cuttings, plants and seeds from our travels.
I guess I have a slight weakness for tropical trees that don't really fit under an 11 ft roof...
I have gotten fruit from a lot of them, but boy am I wearing the paintbrushes out - I think I need a bee colony!
Outside, I also have hardy kiwi, fig, akebia, wolfberry, blueberries, angdoo, honey berry, and an herb garden.
As soon as I figure out how to do it, I will post a picture of my greenhouse.

Thanks!
Carolyn
