I am pruning one of my grafted to Hass avocado trees. It is a potted plant, and in order to move it around, I need to trim it:

So, I will have wood available from up to 1" diameter and down to pencil size. Let me know what you want, and I can mail it to you, if you will pay the packaging (USPS mailing tube or such) and postage.

Offer good this week only, and until wood is gone.

Best regards!

can you successfully graft it to a tree without removing the possibility of having a avocado of the native variety? i don't want to have to remove the possibility of tasting my seedling's fruit.

Oolie,

Sure. Just position the graft such that it does not replace all of the tree.

People on this forum sometimes graft many cultivars to one tree by using this principle. For example see:

See his graft of a Queen and Mexicola done 8/12.

Best regards!

David, I am still interested in some of your clippings. I am willing to pay or trade something to make it worth your while. Thank you.

O.T.,

The Hass avocado wood is still available, and is free. I would appreciate it if you could pay postage, probably for one of those smaller USPS priority mailing boxes, depending on what you want.

Most people here graft with smaller sized wood, see recent thread:

http://www.cloudforest.com/cafe/gardening/what-size-avocado-scion-wood-takes-best-does-matter-t3417.html

however most of my trees were grafted with larger wood using a cleft graft (completely removing the cutting grown/seedling grown top).

So, what size wood and how much do you want? I suggest that I strip off all the leaves and ship it to you in a ziplock bag using priority mail, to make sure it is fresh.

Back to you!

I would like 3-6 small pieces. They could be 1/4" - 1/2" thick, however you think would be best to ship works for me. I am willing to pre-pay for shipping or reimburse you. Thank you for all the help.

O.T.,

Got your pm. Since I don’t want the scions to sit in the post office over the weekend, I will ship Monday with delivery expected Wednesday, unless you tell me you would prefer another day. ..

All for now.

Just wondering if your Hass scion wood is still available? you did say for a week, so I probably missed it.
