Do Want! Pineapple!

In my time on Maui, I enjoyed many activities such as finding passionfruit growing roadside, finding breadfruit and papaya growing in pickable areas, and spearing guavas from trees.

In my trip I also caught a chameleon. If I can find pics I will post them.

But the best thing I found was a roadside stand with 1$ pineapples.

Walking up to the stand, the smell would hit you before you crossed the street. It was the most fragrant, intense, pineapple euphoria. As you approach the pineapples, you notice that they are very strongly yellow in color. Their color was most similar to the background on this webpage. If you could handle the intense aroma enough to examine them closely, they had large amber globs of sugar syrup oozing from the points where the sections of the fruit met.

The fruit when cut open was only a slightly lighter shade of yellow on the inside, but darker than anything I've seen from a can or from a store. The taste was more tart, and more sugary, and more flavorful than any store-bought pineapple. the tartness may have been due to a number of things. It could have been picked early in the morning. It could be from me eating the core (which was quite edible). It could have been the cultivar.

Does this sound like a cultivar anyone has ever heard of?
I want to find a scion from this that I could root, I've heard pineapples grow well in my area.

if i'm correct it is the style that grows in a pointed cone shape instead of the cylindrical shape.
