Comparing Temps.

On my one remote sensor on the lower portion of my garden I have a current reading of -1.2 celcius. On the other remote sensor that is located in my upper garden I have a reading of -0.5 celcius. They are approx. 200'ft. apart. In my upper garden is where I grow Brahea edulis. I also have planted many other species of palm seedlings I'm testing there. Joe

All of the boards' talk of remote thermometers put it at the top of my Santa list.

I got one, but it caused more concern than ever. I now know my low overnight temp, where before I looked at the morning temp and called that the low.

This is the time of the year I think I should be protecting my Livingston chinensis, and my Washingtonia filifera, well they have made it through a number of winters without so why not now.

I will be curious

temps

Last night in the middle of the back yard I recorded a low of 21.2 F (the coldest night of 2003 so far) and against the south side of the front yard under an overhang sheltered by large Douglas Fir trees I recorded a low of a relatively mild 25.4 F. Micro climates definately make a difference. Too bad I do not have more good microclimates.

Today was a cloudy cool day here with light snow flurries. The high only reached 30.8 F. It has now cooled down to 29 F again with light snow continuing.
