I took my callistemon out of the garage a couple weeks ago. I don't think it's actually gone below freezing here over the past week, but the tips of many branches have turned gray and dead. Maybe this happens just below about 40 F. It's going back in the garage tonight ...

Snowing here too although nothing is sticking at 4c (38f). Crazy weather!

Not snowing here in Tsawwassen. Hasn't snowed at all here during these "totally weird" March(!!) weather events. Currently 6c (43 f).
Bring on the warmth, pullleez!

Just a touch of slushy flakes at 1AM, that's about it...though I might have missed another shower after retiring for the night.
Snow after Easter...never thought it could happen!

It did hail for a few minutes before the sun returned again. It was sunny here today and then these big black clouds rolled in and gave us some hail, they went as fast as they came. Back to the sunshine. It wasn't that warm though, only 8.5 C. today. Felt cool by the ocean because of the breeze. I worked in town all day and it sure could have been alot warmer for my liking.

Same experience with Little John here on Saltspring (see the pic). It was not exposed to frost but kept at low temps under a tarp cover. Looks to me like some sort of a fungal damage.

Hi Vlad, I think that's just the way it reacts to cold. The new growth at ends of some branches turns gray and dies. Also, the tips of individual leaves turn grey and die back.
Mine had damage like that when I bought it, but it grew vigorously once the weather warmed covering up the damage with new growth.
