Local TV saying the same thing
Looks like the heat waves are a' comin'! I wonder if this means flooding from all the mountain thaw it will produce?
Forecast for the Willamette Valley is for upper 70s by the end of next week.

Same deal on the weather network. The weekend of May 16, 17, 18 they are calling for high temps exceeding 28c ..83f for SW B.C..this would be nice ...only problem is the weather network has a track record of being way off the mark. We'll see !

La Nina has weakened since February. It would be nice to think that it might fade very quickly, allowing temperatures to approach normal. My Musa Sikkimensis has not moved since unwrapping it over a month ago. This is the poorest start I have ever had. On an up note, winter damage is less than the past couple of years.

We might sneak up to 60 early this evening if the clouds break.
Average for the second week of May is about 65-ish here. Record highs are in the 80s and low 90s.

Originally they were forecasting "we have a good chance of breaking 70". On the day before, the forecast for Eugene was mid-70s. And then we hit 84.
The moral of the story? It's very hard to predict the exact intensity of a strong heat wave or cold spell. There's a chance that next week's ridge could flatten and we'd stay in the upper 60s or low 70s for PDX / EUG. Or perhaps they will be right for once - upper 70s. Or they will underestimate the heat potential and our weather will end up hotter than an average day in July.
And the weather networks didn't expect that we would get those six inches of snow in late Jan!

The forest is back.
Its predicted to hit the 90's late next week here so it sounds unanimous of a next week warmup.

Weve had temperatures in the mid to high 70's for over a week now and more forecast for next week. Lubbly Jubbly!!
As your winter weather patterns have mirrored ours in the UK, it sounds to reason that your gonna feel the heat soon.
