I thought, it would be interesting to post here because the climate is similar to the PNW.

awesome pics! thanks for posting!
I love those gardens. I don't think you are going to find such good looking Echiums throughout most of what is called the "Pacific Northwest". Those pics are clearly a zn 9 climate.
Ian, when are you going to have a Telopea that looks like that and is zn 7 hardy hahaha. If only.

Thanks David,
The Telopea must be "emperor torch", I am going to plant it in my z8a garden, let's hope it will be hardy enough...

Strange you don't see or hear about them much in PNW. I have never seen any being sold in the local nurseries in spite of Telopea being reported to grow at higher elevations in Tasmania. Judging from the size of the plant in the picture, looks like you could get them blooming at a younger age that the related Embothrium. A couple of years ago I started a bunch of Telopea truncata from seeds directly from Tasmania but only one sprouted and, unfortunately, even that perished before the summer was over. Did I see Araucaria heterophylla in one of the pictures? Definitely one zone above mine - lol. Thanks for posting those great pics.

The Araucaria heterophylla grows in a part of Roscoff gardens that is close to a zone 10.
