El Nino = Below Average Mountain Snows?

Whistler has already recorded a record snowfall (over 4 meters of snow in November already). Great news for the mountain considering how worried they were that El Nino would cause another dismal year. Not bad for us gardeners either, we've had very few frosts so far in Victoria. Oddly enough the moderate El Nino has transitioned to a strong El Nino but the bulk of the heat seems to be in the Central Pacific rather than the Eastern Pacific so that may be a factor.
