Bruce Cone - Oregon
It is great to have Bruce on board given that he seems an active and energetic guy. He, myself and other exec members are in contact to promote the club and its ideals on both sides of the border.
I will be updating the club website over the holidays and encourage you to email me with any classifieds materials, links etc. It has been very difficult to find time to update the site over the past year or so but I will be trying to improve this situation in the new year.
Regards,
Jay Akerley

Why aren’t you posting the donated pictures?
Must I be an IPS member in order to have my donated pictures put in the Pacific Northwest Palm and Exotic Plant Society site?

Hi Micheal,
I sent a few photos to Jay that maybe ok?
The photo's I was going to send (before/after) will not work, since it does not meet the minimum resolution requirements.
There's always next year!
SO, I'm going to post them on a pix website for everyone to see, very soon!
Merry Christmas!!!

Thanks for the posting Jay, I’m excited to be able to unify and stimulate PNWPEPS in Oregon. Although the discussion board is an important connection with palm enthusiasts, I would like to get members involved in Oregon with one another. By this I mean, local tours, BBQ’s, nursery visits and whatever members can suggest. I know that I’m particuly interested in seeing other member’s collection of palms and exotic plants.
My wife and I have gone a little nuts with palms and exotic plants. We have way too many but continue to purchase more. We’ve got palm tree T-shirts, socks, license plate frames, light switch plates, refrigerator magnets and anything else that has a palm on it, we buy it. I have about 30 palms in the ground now ranging from 1’ to 8’ and a greenhouse full of them too.
My knowledge on palms and exotics is somewhat limited compared to some of you I’ve already met but I have the interest and enthusiasm to continue learning more about these most interesting plants. I plan on making contact with each member in the near future. Those of you, who are not members, please join!
Thanks,
Bruce Cone

Denis,
Did you not receive my reply regarding your photos? I copied Michael Ferguson on the message, and he probably still has it on file. I asked that you send them in higher resolution. They are such high quality photos that most of them should be included in HPI, as opposed to the website. They should therefore be at least 150dpi and probably closer to 300 dpi. I also asked that you resend the photos without any text labelling on them. Please send them all to Michael Ferguson at msf@shaw.ca and he will pass on the ones that he does not want to use for HPI.

Roger,
I do not believe I received those photos meant for Michael. Please resend them to him at msf@shaw.ca.
It is best to send high res. photos for HPI to Michael and website photos to me, because my internet-based email system cannot handle excessively large files.
