Best fertilizer for palms?

Is it worth seeking out the palm-specific fertilizers or is there a more readily available fertilizer that works well for palms.

If so, what specific types have you had success with.

Thanks

Lowes palm and Hibiscus...does work..

I fergets the name but its sold at Lowes and Home Depot..not cheap in small amounts, hard to find in big discount bags north of L.A.. And will give Hibiscus that deep green better than anything else i have tried for them..
Also good are bat guano(no joke) based ferts..the stuff really works on ferns great also...third is cottonseed and organic ferts..with iron and magnesium.

Turf Majic, for one...

Comes in a small box. The other brand in a zip lock bag is almost as good. turf majic did a fine job greening up a Howea growing outdoors..just takes alot of it.
Anyway's looked in my bin of fertilizer to find the name...

GrowMore Palm Food

I've only been using it for a year, but my palms seem to like GrowMore Palm Food, which claims to have various micronutrients geared to palms. Also "contains Yucca Extract!"

You can find it in stores or at www.growmore.com
