soil...

I live in Seattle and I'm wondering if it's enough to cover the surrounding area (where my trachy's are) with a good compost. Is there anything else I should add to the existing soil? I only use fish emulsion and the compost and they seem to be happy but I'm just wondering if there's anything else.

Same here

I've done the same as you have Fred, and have great results. After about the second or third year planted, they'll explode with new growth each season.
