Welcome to the home page of the Cloudforest Fruit Facts.
Here you will find fact sheets for fruits and fruit varieties. Gardeners should not have to know how to navigate a botanical taxonomy in order to find information about fruits. Therefore, fruits in the Cloudforest Fruit Facts are grouped together according to more intuitive horticultural categories. For example, apples, pears, and quince are grouped into the Pome Fruits, whereas rose apples, which are in the same botanical family as pome fruits belong in the tropical fruit category.
The Stone Fruit Category includes Cherries, Peaches, Apricots, Plums, and so on. The Citrus Category includes for example Mandarins, Clementines, Oranges, Limes and much more. Tropical Fruits includes the usual culprits such as Bananas, Mangoes, Pineapple and other yummy tropical fruit.
To add a fruit fact page for a new fruit, use the field below to enter a name and click on the Add button. Please follow the naming rule: use the most common English name for the fruit, capitalize the fruit name, and keep it in singular form. (No plurals please!)
Make sure to select the appropriate sub-category to assign the fruit to. If you are not sure, you can navigate the taxonomy below and find the appropriate place to enter the fruit. Make sure your entry doesn't already exist under an other spelling. Duplicate entries are subject for immediate deletion. If the form is missing some attributes, then the attributes need to be added to Fruit form and the Template:Fruit. Contact an admin or a project lead to have this done.
